Another well-known Christian pastor and leader was exposed recently for infidelity and sexual sin.
It’s devastating. I can’t help but think of his wife and kids and the pain and shame they must be experiencing. Of course, we pray for God to minister to the whole family and somehow redeem this failure for a greater good.
What are we to make of these moments?
How do we process the confusion and questions it raises?
Whenever this happens I want it to be a sobering reminder that sin is deceitful. All of us carry in our flesh the capability to succumb to temptation and sin.
We can’t pretend we are immune. We can’t downplay the seriousness of sin. And we must continually develop convictions and habits that promote vulnerability, humility, and accountability.
